Remember the Titans!!!!
Actually you are probably better off if you forget them this year. Fisher is on the hot seat, which I don't understand based on their talent level. He is a very good coach and they are now rebuilding.
At QB, Young is the future...but we all know he will want to run more than Forrest Gump. He needs to learn to balance himself out. The knock on this pick is that he played in a VERY simplified offense at TX and was told to tuck and run if the first read wasn't open. Welcome to the NFL Mr. Young. With the speed of the D-line and LB's this will not lead to a successful career. Volek might be the starter. His stats aren't horrible, but the Titans are a mere 3 - 10 in the last three years when he has started. Why they are waiting to throw Young in is beyond me...BTW, I am sure "the boot" being gone will help Volek and Young as you don't have to worry about whether or not you are going to start...How would you like to be the guy that practices with the 1st team every week and then gets pulled at a game time decision to throw in a guy with a boot? Of course, all reports from training camp are that Vince likes to throw into double coverage...remember Peyton Manning had a similar problem and went 1 - 15 in his rookie year...
RB has decent depth..enough so that they are looking to move the unhappy Brown. Brown will probably be the starter if he stays, but White and Henry will get their share of carries. Henry has been less than impressive the last couple of years, but White is clearly the future. I think this guy is a stud in the making. He and Reggie Bush shared carries in college and he got crap about his weight and commitment. Hopefully, for the Titans, I think this will motivate him. He will be one of those 3.5+ average yards per carry with very few losses...this is my type of RB.
The Titans are thin at WR...Givens and Bennett are more than adequate starters, but Calico is the #3...I think both Bennett and Givens are great #2 WR's... but neither is going to scare a secondary as the main target.
If Pillar and Mawae can stay healthy, their O-line gets immediate help. These guys are both solid. The rest are also solid, but not great. Their rush offense was only 23rd last week...I wonder why they are shopping Chris Brown...they can finish 23rd with or without him...these guys being healthy should improve this part of the O...
The D was clearly below average...gone is Tank...welcome to TN Chris Hope of the Defending Super Bowl Champions and Thorton from Indi...the D-line will be suspect again...Thorton will help the LB's, but they are not great...and Hope is a great run supporter, but he actually is a detriment in pass coverage...if Pacman Jones and Renaldo Hill improve again, then their corners will be more than adequate...overall, I don't see much improvement in a defense that ranked 20th last year...it is tough to win when your D gives up 26 points a game...29th in 2005. The additions on D are good, but not enough to change this number significantly...
"The Man" has the number of wins at 5.5. Last year this team won 4 games...unfortunately for them, two of them were against the lowly Texans...who actually will be better this year and split with the Titans...that gives us a start at 1 - 1...I hate to break it to the Titan fans, but the only other win on their schedule is at home in week one against NYJ...they will lose the following games: @ SD, @ Miami, Dallas, Indi twice, @ Wash, Jax twice, Baltimore, @ Philly, NYG, @ Buffalo and NE...their only other possible wins are Houston, @ Buffalo, and NE (this game might mean nothing for them)...I can't see these guys getting close to 5.5...please tell me where I am wrong...I love this under...not quite as much as the Browns under...but go three stars under the 5.5...
